Vagar (EKVG) – Keflavic (BIKF)

My dad and I lastnight went for a fly in the Airbus A320 from Vagar in the Faroe Islands to Kevlafic in Iceland.

It was a great flight with cloudy weather on our way, we climbed to flight level 300 which is 30,000 ft and it was very bumpy as we claimed in the small but fast aAirbusA319′s.
As soon as we were level we started the cruise. We were cruising for about one hour. Then the fms told us that we should start the descent, but the fms was wrong. We started out descent too early resulting in us becoming very low and ending up through a narrow valley with 5000ft mountains either side of us. It was a death trap :) it was very dramatic as we came clear of the valley, then we started a left hand roll to establish on the ILS approach on to runway 29.
We established as normal and came in with 25 degree flap causing a lot of drag on our way down which was what we wanted because my dad and I were flying so close. My Dad landed perfectly and vacated just in time for my touch down. I landed bang on the touch down zone with about a -5 fpm landing rate. PERFECT !
It was a great flight and we then decided to take off to Greenland. The diary of that flight will be posted in a few days.
Many thanks and expect a few photos in due course.
Regards Dewi
